Ultrasonic Sensors operate in diffuse, reflex, and thru-beam modes. It performs contactless, reliable, and high-performance detection regardless of the target’s shape, texture, colour, or transparency. Detection occurs when the pulse returns in a shorter period. An ultrasonic sensor uses a transducer to send and receive bounced back ultrasonic sound wave pulses. Detection occurs when an object enters the transmitted light beam changing the intensity of the light at the receiver whereby the output of the sensor changes state. A photoelectric sensor comprises of a light transmitter (light-emitting diode) and a light-sensitive receiver (photo-transistor). If the status of the sensor pin is HIGH then provide a HIGH output to LED or else provide a LOW output to an LED.Photoelectric, ultrasonic and proximity sensors detect the presence of objects without physical contact. In the loop, check the status of the sensor pin.
This will make pin 8 of Arduino receive inputs from the sensor and provide certain output to an LED. In Setup, set LED pin in output mode and sensor pin in input mode.
